❦ 28th Record

[He swiped the journal from an unsuspecting random NPC explorer in the Wilderness. He'll give it back when he's done, but this is faster than waiting for the person to come back, and really it's their fault for leaving it lying about where anyone could get at it.

...especially since he's not sure if he can talk like this. Well. Talk, and be understood by anyone but Krile.

The writing looks... weird. Which is perfectly understandable, since he's kind of. Holding a brush in his teeth and writing that way. It's actually surprisingly easy to do... but his writing doesn't look anything like normal.]

Hey, this is Cloud. What day is it, are the ants still around, and anyone want to tell me why I've got maybe a half-dozen fireflies following me everywhere? They appeared out of nowhere pretty much the second I stepped out into the Wilderness. [And promptly turned into a pony, which neatly distracted him from wondering where the bugs came from.]

[Slight pause.]

I learned my real name, while I was there. Ginko. You can call me that if you want. I'll still answer to Cloud, though.

[For those characters who can read kanji, it should be noted that the characters that make up the name 'Ginko' mean nothing. He spells it with phonetic kanji.]

More just bothersome. Something from Commander Vimes's home--sort of ugly things, ate anything you put in front of them and, well, had a tendency to blow up. Kept following some people around. The fireflies are much less trouble.

How to explain that one, I won't even hazard a guess.

I'm sure someone drew a picture. Not sure if anyone ever figured out what they were about, though.

It doesn't quite fit in the usual patterns, though.

I'd say Sniper, maybe, but I'm not sure that he had one of those things. They seemed prone to explode around people who didn't have one of their own.

That's a new one, to be sure. Might have to see this Wilderness for myself. Can't be worse than the one that turned me into some sort of wildcat.

yeah ;_; -- though I am assuming this is all before Sniper's death naturally

Sniper? I haven't seen him around much. Seems to be busy with something. Not that he's the only one

Well, if I could put up a fight against those shadow beasts on four paws, I might manage that place, too.

You will.

That'd be a nice change, after the masked monsters that made their way up from that last Wilderness.

It's not like Hawk can see him anyway. XD

They came up to the islands, yeah. Not really a proper vanguard, like the zombies, but enough to be trouble.

Captain Bastet reported the first one after the last ants were gone, I'm pretty sure.

Not that I heard. Truth to tell, outside of shifts I was keeping to myself for a while.

[identity profile] crimson-seeker.livejournal.com 2011-07-14 11:09 am (UTC)(link)
That might be something to talk about in person.

Sooner rather than later, I should hope.
