The memories are shadows, ink on the page

[The handwriting is recognizably Cloud's.]

I'm told that this book is used for communication. I don't understand how, but looking back through it, I'm inclined to believe it.

I'm also told that my name is Cloud. News to me, but since I don't remember any other name, it'll do.

Since the people who told me those things seemed to be too busy to answer any more questions, anyone else feel like doing it?

[The following is drawn quickly, with ink and a brush. Kindly pretend it's actually a good drawing, and not one crappily rendered in Paint by me.]



You can start with telling me what that is, and what it was doing in my box. [Pause] What I've been told is my box, anyway.

[There's a small blot of ink where he rested his pen before writing anything.]

What day is it? And while I'm asking questions, any idea why my hair might be [pause] have suddenly changed color?

[Longer pause.]

This is... maybe a strange question. But does anyone know, for sure, that they're [slight pause] still alive?

[A short pause.]

That could have gone better. [Pause, pause... he draws something that looks like a jellyfish.] Anyone know what happened to my box?

[ooc: Scribbled out words are partially readable if you stare/squint at them. Cloud spent today just sort of... wandering around ES aimlessly, so it's possible he ran into various people throughout the day. If you want to say he ran into your character, that's cool. Just make a note of it in the tag or something /handwaves]

[Water drips on the page for nearly a minute before any writing appears.]

Well, that's different. I can't say today started off boring, at least.

The Wilderness has changed into [pause, more water drips] something very interesting this time.

So now we're suddenly living in a huge sakura tree. [A long pause, though uncharacteristically a dot of ink or two appears on the page as he almost starts to write something more before changing his mind.] Makes as much sense as anything else around here.

Koi [slight pause] -san. I think I found another one of those things you were looking for.

That was a hell of a way to wake up.

There's something that looks kind of like a baby dragon loose in the Park. It will attack, but since the thing's teeth didn't hurt me at all I'm not sure how much of a threat it really is.
